The knife is beautiful and extremely sharp. First one I got had a weird indentation towards the bottom of the blade, and the second one I exchanged for is about 8-10 degrees off axis with the handle, but ended up working with my horrible cutting form lol.

Just buy it! I’m still fresh in the culinary world, but the most important thing I’ve learned so far is that a poor quality knife is a dangerous knife. I scoured the entire internet in search of the elusive balance between form, function and style without breaking the bank. Chefs aren’t in it for the money, lol. This knife says it’s Japanese, but a reverse image search led me to China. Wherever it’s made, what it’s made of or whether or not the Damascus is legit doesn’t concern me. This is my sharpest knife right out of the box. Heck, I could probably shave my legs with it.Anyway, I got this knife as a birthday present, and I’m in love. The octagon handle feels very natural in the hand, very smooth, and the kiritsuke blade shape can do just about anything. I can’t speak on the authenticity of the Damascus or steel used, but this is a hell of a knife

If you're looking for a bling bunka this is a great deal. Fit and finish are far better than expected at this price point. A little more curve than I would like, far more than depicted, but not a deal breaker given the overall quality. Thin and balanced, light and nimble, stands out from the crowd of chonky white label blades. It's nice to see one of these appropriately priced on Amazon, not much more than you could order direct from a certain site. These manufacturers have every reason to be proud of their blades.

Glad i went with this one. Was looking for a good practical high quality knife that looks cool and will last. I bought a cheap knife of similar size a few months ago that became dull and even chipped away while cutting a coconut. i can tell this one is literally on a different level. The pics dont really do it justice. Cool, quality knife that just feels sturdy for veggies, meats, etc. Highly recommend.
